The follwing is a guide for the quality of hand tools dipslayed on Oldtools.co.uk website:-

N - New

Maybe "older new" or "recent new".

F - Fine

90-100% of appropriate finish, minimal wear, no repairs.

G+ - Good+

70%-90% of appropriate finish, nominal wear, minor or no repairs, can have light pitting, staining and some nicks and scratches, small chips in wood.

G - Good

50%+ of appropriate finish, nominal to moderate wear, repairs, can have light to heavy pitting, rust and chips. Often cheap for the tool but may need work on it.

G-Fr - Fair

Fair and lower can be found on some old unusual items.
