SOLD - 6 Higgs Quirk Ogee Planes Ref: PL3202 A collection of quirk ogee planes made by Higgs with single boxed strips to the soles. These old woodworking planes retain good length cutters. All six planes are marked with the same woodworkers user name stamp to the front ends of the planes (single stamp to each plane). Two planes have a removable slip to the sole and three other planes have been previously fitted with a sole slip and so the soles have four pin holes. Two of these quirk ogee planes have side slips. Boxwood strips on the sole of two of the planes have been replaced with mahogany strips (see photo) one of which has a chip15mm long chip. Great collection of Higgs planes in good condition for their age. We believe these planes dates from around the late 1700's to late 1820's.
