A mortice and marking gauge made by Marples, includes:
1 x rosewood mortice gauge with brass adjuster and fittings, marked Marples made in England.
1 x beech marking gauge with boxwood thumb screw made by Marples. Also marked with the ministry arrow and date of 1941. The pin has been replace to the opposite end of the beech rod.

A brass stem mortice gauge with ebony head, has a small chip to underside of head (10mm long). This old tool has a number of dents to the brass stem and head. Retains 3mm long sharp points.
