A beech handled carpet stretcher made by W. Marples & Sons, Sheffield. Head is slightly loose and maintains an estimated 95% if its nickel plating.

A beech compass plane made by W. Marples & Sons, Hibernia. Retains a good length plane iron marked W. Marples & Sons, Hibernia, Cast Steel. Plane is marked with a number of light dents and previous woodworkers name stamps. Body of plane has a 20mm long crack where blade enter plane.

A beech spokeshave made by W. Marples & Sons, Sheffield England. Has a minor patch of pitting to blade, otherwise a good clean wooden spokeshave.

A collection of 3 caulking irons made by W. Marples & Sons, Sheffield, England.
Blade widths: 73mm, 54mm and 54mm. The 54mm curved iron has a chip to corner of iron. These caulking irons are marked with some speckling of pitting. Irons measure from 175mm up to 203mm (8").

Transitional Jack Plane made by Marples. Retains a good length W. Marples & Sons Sheffield England, solid crucible steel plane iron. Plane is marked with a number of dents mainly to sides and handle of plane.

Claw hammer made in Sheffield England by Marples, marked 'no. 2'. Has some denting to sides of head. Has a gradual bend to handle with a chip to top of handle.

Ash handled slaters axe / Saxe made by Wm Marples & Sons, Sheffield England. Has a good solid handle.

3 ash handled chisels made by Marples, includes:
1 x 19mm bevel edge chisel,
1 x 9mm bevel edge chisel,
1 x 9mm registered mortice chisel.

A double head axe with a slender blade made by Wm Marples & Sons, Sheffield with ash handled.

Ash handled drawknife made by Wm Marples & Sons Sheffield. Either side of blade is marked with speckling of black staining and some light pitting marks. Handles are misshapen, one handle has an old treated worm hole the other has a replacement washer.

Boxwood handled shallow paring gouge made by W. Marples & Sons. Handle is marked with a number of previous woodworkers name stamps.

Scotia woodworking plane made by 'Joseph Marples, York Works, Sheffield, Coporate Mark, Trial 1'. Retains a near full length plane iron. Ends of plane are marked with the previous woodworkers name stamps, rear end is also marked '3/4'. Has some denting to body. This scarce plane dates from around the mid 1800's.

9 side bead planes made by Joseph Marples. These old wooden planes have a number of marks, dents, discolouration and previous woodworkers name stamps. Includes planes from 3/16" up to 1". Five planes have chips or cracks to boxwood running strips, one plane has a replacement wedge, the 5/8" plane has a large chip to sole. We believe these planes date from the late 1800's to mid 1900's.

Brass plumb bob with steel tip made by W. Marples & Sons, Sheffield, also marked'3'. Brass body has a number of dents and the previous users name stamp.

Open beech handled dovetail saw made by Wm Marples. Steel back is marked Wm Marples & Sons Ltd, Sheffield. Decorative beech handled has two brass split nut screws, handle is marked with the previous woodworkers name stamps. Blade and steel back are marked with speckling of black staining and minor pitting.

Wooden smoothing plane made by Marples, end of plane is marked Hibernia Wm Marples & Sons Sheffield. Retains a good length plane iron marked W. Marples & Sons. Sole is marked with 4 gouge marks and 2 deep gouge marks to side of plane body. Front end of smoothing plane is marked with the previous woodworkers name stamps.

A 31mm wide boxwood handled paring gouge made by Marples. Handle has a 75mm long hairline shrinkage crack and shake in handle.

2 boxwood handled paring gouges made by Marples. Includes:
1 x 31mm very very shallow gouge / chisel,
1 x 20mm gouge, has to 25mm long hairline cracks to handle.

Both handles are marked with marks / dents, the larger gouge is marked with the previous woodworkers initials. These Marples paring gouges measure from 370mm up to 390mm long overall.

1 x 25mm chisel, has a small split to striking end.
1 x 20mm chisel, has a 20mm long crack to handle.

Decorative rosewood level with brass fittings made by Marples. Side of level is marked 'Hibernia W. Marples & Sons Sheffield'. Level has a number of marks and dents with two long knife cuts to one side of level.

A large 22 3/4" long swan neck chisel made with a hardwood handle by W. Marples & Sons, Sheffield. Blade is marked with a number of minor dents and speckles of staining. Good clean handle.

Mahogany level with 2mm thick brass top and feet made by W. Marples & Sons Sheffield Eng.

Beech handled turnscrew marked to blade W. Marples & Sons Sheffield Eng (clover leaf logo). Handle has some denting.

Marples beech handled pull saw marked to blade Wm Marples & Sons Sheffield Warranted Cast Steel. Blade is marked with some speckles of staining and pitting marks.

A beech handled bung borer marked Wm Marples & Sons Sheffield Eng 1. Overall Length 135mm.

A collection of 5 measuring tools made by Marples, collection includes:
1 x rosewood mortice and marking gauge with good points.
1 x rosewood slitting gauge, a more modern tool made by Joseph Marples.

A rare and little used brass plated button pad beech brace by Robert Marples marked with 'R. Marples Inventor & Sole Manufacturer of the Patent Spring Brace Regd, 15th Oct 1846. Has some denting to body.

4 wood firmer chisels made by Wm Marples & Sons with boxwood handles and decorative brass ferules. Handles retain the Marples trade mark. These Sheffield make wood chisels measure:
1 x 26mm, 1 x 19mm, 1 x 12.5mm (has crack to brass ferule), 1 x 6mm.

These Marples firmer chisels measure from 243mm up to 286mm long overall. Blades are marked with some very minor speckles of staining.

A fine dowelling jig no. M148 made by Marples, complete with jig cramp, 16 drill bushes, standard arms and long arms, Record operating instructions booklet and the original Record box (box is misshapen and showing signs of wear).

Boxwood handled sash chisel made by W. Marples & Sons. Handle has to long cracks 90mm long and 55mm long, that have been filled by previous woodworker. Blade measures 50mm wide and is marked with a large patch of pitting to one side of blade. Sold as a collectable item.

1 x 28mm wide spindle gouge, 1 x 26mm wide square end chisel, 1 x 16mm skew chisel, 1 x 6mm turning gouge.

These Marples wood turning tools have some dents to handles through use and slight staining to blades. A nice collection that measure from 398mm up to 535mm (21").
