Norris Planes

Coffin shaped A5 smoothing plane made by Norris of London with ebonised beech infills. Retains good length cutting iron marked Norris London to front side and Robt Sorby to the rear. Lever cap and brass knurled blade adjusting knob is also marked Norris London. Sides of rear wood infill are marked with the previous woodworkers name stamp. Sides and sole are marked with some light marks and scratches. A lovely old Norris plane that retains part of the original machine marks to sides and an estimated 90% of its ebonised finish to handles.

Little Norris Bullnose plane no. 25 with rosewood wedge. Retains a near full length cutter marked Norris London, cutter is also marked a patch of pitting, retains rear screw. This old Norris bullnose plane has some light scratching and a number of visible dents. All parts original, blade wedge and body are all marked ‘9’.

A fine little used 14 1/2" panel plane made by Norris London. This lovely post war plane retains a near full length parallel plane iron. Lever cap, plane iron and lateral blade adjuster are all marked with the Norris London stamp. Infills retain an estimated 96%+ of the original finish. This collectable plane comes complete with the original Norris box (box is worn with faint writing to lid and worn edges).

A nice dovetailed shoulder plane no 7 by Norris of London, with rosewood wedged and infill. Retains a good length snecked cutting iron. Body, wedge and cutter are all marked with the no 1. Rosewood infill and wedge are lightly marked with the previous users name stamp. Body has some very light speckling of pitting/staining, sole of the shoulder plane has clean crisp edges. A nice old Norris woodworking plane in good condition.

Retains near full length cutting iron marked Norris London. Lever cap and brass knurled blade adjusting knob are also marked Norris London. Sides and sole are marked with some light marks and scratches. A lovely old Norris plane with all parts working smoothly.

A late 14 1/2" A1 panel plane made by Norris, London. Retains a near full length Norris iron, lever cap and lateral adjuster are both marked Norris London. The beech infills have some loss and flaking of lacquer, the rear infill has a hairline shrinkage crack around the top of the handle (see photo). The body of this Norris panel plane has some staining marks, scratches and a couple of light patches of minor pitting.
