![]() Stanley Side Rabbet Plane no. 79The Stanley no. 79 side rabbet plane was made both in the USA and the UK from around 1920's onwards. The plane was made from cast iron with a nickel plated finish, war models had a black japanned finish. Earlier models of this plane (type 1) have a half round cut out of the frame as can be seen in the top photograph, this was then changed on later models to a straight cast with a small hole in the centre as can be seen in the bottom photo, a rear fence was also added. | |

![]() Stanley no. 212 Scraper PlaneThe Stanley no. 212 scraper plane was designed for scraping on smaller work areas, the plane is used a single hand. This tool was mainly used by musical instrument makers and cabinet makers. The cast of these planes were marked in script 'Stanley no. 212'. The models we have come across have no markings to the blade, though the scraper blade is sometimes marked with the Stanley mark. The plane is made from cast iron with brass knurled adjuster knobs, a rosewood knob and is finished with black japanning. The scraper blade measures 35mm wide. | |
