Stanley Plough, Combination and Multi-Planes

A hard to find near full set of Stanley special cutters designed to fit the Stanley no. 55 plane.
Includes 39 cutters: sash cutter, beading cutters, hollows, rounds, quarter hollows, quarter rounds, reverse ogees, roman ogees, Grecian ogees, rounds with bead, reeding cutters and fluting cutters. This set includes 39 of the 41 cutters, missing 2 fluting cutters no. 35 (7/16") and no. 37 (5/8"). Cutters are marked with some speckles of minor staining and pitting. There are some light gradual bend to a few cutters as with the majority of 55 cutters we come across. Cutters come in 2 user made boxes.

Stanley Multi Plane no 45 made in USA by Stanley with rosewood handle, knob and fence, comes complete with 23 good clean cutters, long and short arms, cam steady, 2 spurs, beading gauge, depth gauge, adjustable depth gauge, Stanley mini screwdriver and a user made dovetailed pine box. Previous woodworker has added 4 drill holes to either skate of this woodworking plane. Plough cutter no. 15 has been reshaped to a different profile by previous woodworker (see photo). Body maintains an estimated 98% of nickel.

Rosewood handled combination plane no. 50 made by Stanley. Includes 17 cutters, shaving deflector, 2 spurs, depth gauge, beading gauge, Stanley leaflet and box (box is in poor condition with tears to lid). Cutters are marked with patches of pitting (see photos) reflected in price. This Stanley combination retains an estimated 98% of its nickel plating.

An early combination plane no. 50 made by Stanley. Body is marked ‘S’ plus the previous users name stamp, side fence is marked PAT Sept 1183??? And has been fitted with a boxwood moulded fence. Maintains an estimated 75-80% of nickel plating, arms lack plating. Includes depth stop lacks cutters.

A fine rosewood handled multi plane no. 45E. Skate is marked Stanley made in USA SW (sweetheart logo). This old woodworking plane includes 23 good clean cutters, long and short arms, cam steady, beading stop, sliding section depth gauge, adjustable depth gauge, 4 spurs, Stanley mini screwdriver, leaflet and the original box marked 'Stanley Tools, one 45E plane, Stanley Rule & Level Co. New Britain Conn USA. A small 10mm by 8mm cut has been made into the wooden fence. A lovely old collectable Stanley multi plane that has seen little use still maintaining an estimated 99% of its finish.

Cutters included with this plane: 12 plough / dado / fillister / rabbet cutters, 7 beading cutters, 2 match cutter 1 sash cutter and 1 slitting cutter.

An early rosewood handled, floral design multi plane no. 45 made by Stanley. This woodworking plane comes with all 20 good clean cutters, cam steady marked 'Stanley Pat'd July 91901, B', depth gauge, beading gauge, adjustable depth stop, 2 spurs, mini screwdriver and the original Stanley wooden box, the box has couple of chips. This old multi plane is marked Stanley, No. 45, Trade Mark 45, B, Stanley Rule & Level Co, Pat MCH.11.84. JAN 22.95. A lovely old multi plane that retains 90-95% of its finish, long and sort arms lack nickel plating.

A fine rosewood handled skew cutter combination plane made by Stanley. Includes 11 skew cutters, 2 spurs and 2 depth stops one of which is a replacement stop. This old no. 46 combination plane retains an estimated 97% of its nickel plating. Plane irons are in very good condition.

Rosewood handled universal combination plane no. 55 made by Stanley. Complete with all 52 cutters that are in excellent condition, main section, sliding section, auxiliary centre bottom, long and short arms, 2 gauges, 2 spurs, lacks how to use booklet. Comes with the original Stanley wooden box (a number of old treated worm holes, has split to top of box where lid sides in to). The plane body itself is marked Stanley Rule & Level Co Pat. Sep.19.93. pat Jan.22.95. This old Stanley no. 55 Universal combination plane maintains an estimated 90% of its nickel plating, long and short arms lack nickel plating. Wooden side fence has a 24mm long by 5mm wide x 1mm deep cut made by previous woodworker. A lovely old plane.

The plane body itself is marked Stanley SW (sweetheart logo) made in USA no. 55. Side fence is marked trade mark 55, the depth gauge is marked US. PAT 4-11-22. This old Stanley no. 55 plane is in excellent condition and still maintains an estimated 95% of its nickel plating, long and short arms lack nickel plating. A lovely old plane which retains a good clean set of cutters.

This is a rare early Stanley plough plane which is designed with a decorative pattern and Rosewood handle. The plane has one cutter and has a replacement depth stop. A nice collectable old plane.
