| An old wooden plough plane made by Marples. End of plane is marked 'Hibernia, Wm Marples & Sons, Sheffield, 1939, also marked with the ministry arrow. Skate is marked with some minor speckling of staining/ very light pitting. Plane is in very good condition with it's depth adjuster working smoothly. Includes 5 Marples irons numbers 1, 2, 5, 6 and 8. Iron 5 has a small patch of pitting, iron 2 is marked with a large patch of pitting halfway down either side of the blade. We have added a no. 4 plough iron that was made by Seedland Bros, Sheffield. |

| A collection of quirk ogee planes made by Higgs with single boxed strips to the soles. These old woodworking planes retain good length cutters. All six planes are marked with the same woodworkers user name stamp to the front ends of the planes (single stamp to each plane). Two planes have a removable slip to the sole and three other planes have been previously fitted with a sole slip and so the soles have four pin holes. Two of these quirk ogee planes have side slips. Box wood strips on the sole of two of the planes have been replaced with a mahogany strip one of which has a chip15mm long chip. Great collection of Higgs planes in good condition for their age. We believe these planes dates from around the late 1700's to late 1820's. These quirk ogee planes measure from 35mm (1 3/8") wide up to 63mm (2 1/2") wide overall. Price: £120.00 |
