Socketed Gouge (35mm) and Heavy Duty Chisel (49mm)
Two old socketed tools, includes a large heavy duty socketed chisel with a steel ferule to the striking end, blades marked Spear and Jackson Cast Steel. The second tool is a large out cannel gouge marked Groves & Sons. Both tools have a number of dents plus staining to their blades due to their old age.

Old London pattern boxwood handled paring chisel with a slender blade by Thos Ibbotson & Co. Has some denting and previous users name stamp to its handle. Blade has some minor staining and a small patch of minor pitting. A nice old paring chisel in fairly good condition for its age.

Skelton Paring Chisel
A boxwood handled firmer paring chisel by Skelton of Sheffield fitted with a brass ferule. The slender blade on this tool measures 9 7/8” (250mm) long by 1 1/2" (32mm) wide and overall this woodworking chisel measures 15 3/4" (400mm) long.
The blade has been previously re-glued firmly into the handle.

Isaac Greaves Paring Chisel
An old we believe fruitwood handled paring firmer chisel, appears to be marked Isaac Greaves Cast Steel. Blade has some patches of light pitting to front of this woodworking tool. The handle also has a number of small dents and a hairline crack close to the ferule. The blade of this old woodworking tool measures 1 1/2" (38mm) wide by 9 1/2" (240mm) long. Overall this old paring tool measures 15 1/2" (394mm) long.

SOLD Nurse Firmer Chisels
Three woodworking chisels by Nurse & CO, all fitted with
brass ferules. The largest firmer chisel has a boxwood handle and
measures 1 1/4" (32mm) wide by 11 3/4" long overall, the
chisel blade measures 5 3/4" (295mm) long. The medium sized
Nurse chisel has an ash handle, blade measures 5 1/8" (131mm)
long by 3/4" (20mm) wide, overall over all this old tool measures
10 11/16" (272mm) long. The smallest of these woodworking chisels
has an ash handle, the blade measures 1/4" (6mm) wide with
a 4 1/2" (115mm) long blade, overall this old firmer chisel
measures 9 5/8" (245mm) long. The largest Nurse chisel handle
has some denting to handle, a good useable collection. Blades honed
and sharpened on dispatch.
