SOLD 5 Marking out tools
A collection of 5 older tools used for marking out, a Rosewood mortise gauge, points quite good, screw to tighten head slot worn so large screw driver needed to tighten. Slitting gauge marked “W. Marples Sheffield” nick off boxwood tighten screw. Marking gauge marked “James Howarth Sheffield”. Sliding bevel in ebony and brass finish, steel blade 9” (228mm). Square, 9” (228mm) overall length with old trefoils, stock finished in ebony and brass, top of stock has chip out and small crack, back edge of ebony stock rounded through use over the years.
