Henry Disston Try Square 12 inch
An old 12” try square marked Henry Disston & Sons Philad’a USA No. 5 ½. Steel blade is marked out in inches up to 12” long overall. Rear of stock has the previous users initials with six saw cuts, base of stock has a small drill hole by previous user to hang the tool.

SOLD Combination Set
A combination set, rule is marked The L.S.S.Co Athol, Mass. USA, hardened, no. 4 and is marked out in inches to both sides up to 12” long overall. The protractor head is also marked The L.S.S.CO Athol Mass. USA. The centre head is unnamed as is the square, the square retains bubble but lacks the marking pin and is marked with 8 small saw cuts (previous users stamp), the square is believed to be from another combination set.

Two Stanley USA Squares
2 Steel Squares both Stanley USA.
Stanley No 12 square 12” (305mm), with sweet heart mark, blade has some discolouration and very minor pitting. Stock retains 95% of original finish.
Stanley No 12 square 6” (151mm), blade has some discolouration, stock retains 90% of original finish.

Collection of marking out tools
A collection of 4 tools used for marking out. A rosewood slitting gauge which has had very little/ if any use. Marking gauge no5061 by Stanley, new. Sliding bevel by Marples with rosewood and brass stock and 12” (305mm) steel blade, the bevel has minor nicks and scratches. Square by Marples 12” (305mm) overall length 13-3/4” (352mm) stock in mahogany and brass finish with steel blade, again this has had very little use.

SOLD 5 Marking out tools
A collection of 5 older tools used for marking out, a Rosewood mortise gauge, points quite good, screw to tighten head slot worn so large screw driver needed to tighten. Slitting gauge marked “W. Marples Sheffield” nick off boxwood tighten screw. Marking gauge marked “James Howarth Sheffield”. Sliding bevel in ebony and brass finish, steel blade 9” (228mm). Square, 9” (228mm) overall length with old trefoils, stock finished in ebony and brass, top of stock has chip out and small crack, back edge of ebony stock rounded through use over the years.

SOLD Marking out tools
A collection of 5 tools used for marking out. Rosewood mortise gauge, some wear to slot of screw to tighten head. Slitting gauge marked 31 to head. Marking gauge. Sliding bevel, rosewood and brass finish to stock, steel blade 10-1/2” (267mm).
Square 10-3/4” O/A (274mm) with stock finished in rosewood and brass and steel blade, stamped into stock is ministry arrow and 1970 plus some other numbering.
