Sail Makers Tools
A collection of four different sized awls believed to be for sail making, one of which has a barb near to its point. The largest measures 220mm (8 5/8") long overall, blades marked 10-5544 SFT 1972, also marked with the ministry arrow. The next longest awl measures 203mm (8") long overall, has a 25mm long crack to handle. The awl with the stubby beech handle measures 165mm (6 1/2") long overall. The shortest of these tools measures 175mm (6 7/8") long overall, this tool has a barb on its point. |
