Norris A1 Panel Plane

An early Norris A1 panel plane. This beautifully engineered plane is made with a dovetailed steel body and fitted with rosewood infills, closed rear handle. These planes were fitted with thick parallel irons marked Norris London to the front and often marked Robt Sorby to the rear side of the iron. The lever cap is made from gunmetal with a knurled adjuster marked Norris London, the rear lateral adjuster is also marked with the Norris London stamp.

Post War Norris A1 Panel Plane

A post war Norris A1 panel plane, this well built plane is made with a dovetailed steel body and fitted with ebonised beech infills, closed rear handle. As seen in the photograph the post war Norris planes had a screw fitted to the front and rear infills, pre war planes had smooth handles without the screws, earlier models infills we made from rosewood. These planes were fitted with thick parallel irons marked Norris London to the front and often marked Robt Sorby to the rear side of the iron. The lever cap is made from gunmetal with a knurled adjuster marked Norris London, the rear lateral adjuster was also marked with the Norris London stamp.

Norris A5 Coffin Shaped Smoothing Plane

A post war Norris A5 coffin shaped smoothing plane with a closed rear handle, this well built plane is made with a steel body and fitted with ebonised beech infills. As seen in the photograph the post war Norris planes had a screw fitted to the front and rear infills, pre war planes had smooth handles without the screws, earlier models infills we made from rosewood. These planes were fitted with thick parallel irons marked Norris London to the front and often marked Robt Sorby to the rear side of the iron. The lever cap is made from gunmetal with a knurled adjuster marked Norris London, the rear lateral adjuster was also marked with the Norris London stamp. As can be seen from the photograph this plane has seen little use still retaining the original machine marks from manufacture and much of the ebonised finish to the handles.

Norris Smoothing Plane no. 50G

An adjustable coffin shaped smoothing plane by Norris made with a gunmetal body, steel sole and fitted with walnut infills on the plane pictured. Thick parallel steel plane iron is marked Norris London, gunmetal lever cap is also marked with the makers stamp Norris London 50G.

Norris No. A51 Smoothing Plane

An adjustable Norris A51 smoothing plane made with parallel sides and fitted with walnut infill. Lever cap is marked Norris London. Parallel iron is marked Norris London. Rear knurled adjuster is also marked with the makers stamp Norris London.

Norris Smoothing Plane no. 61

An adjustable no. 61 iron smoothing plane by Norris made with parallel sides and fitted with walnut infil and closed handle. Lever cap is marked with the makers stamp Norris London 61. The plane pictured has a replacement parallel iron, the original iron would be parallel and marked Norris London. Rear knurled adjuster is also marked with the makers stamp Norris London, this is often where patents are stamped on Norris smoothing and panel planes.

Norris No.7 Shoulder Plane

Dovetailed no. 7 shoulder plane made in London by Norris fitted with a rosewood infill, wedge and a snecked cutting iron that's marked Norris. Features a very fine mouth that was manufactured either square or with a skew mouth. The maker's name Norris is stamped into the front end of the infill. The Norris no. 7 plane varied in width and length.

Norris Shoulder Plane no. 20 E

The no. 20 Norris Shoulder Plane is made with a gunmetal body with a steel sole and fitted with a hardwood infill and wedge that are generally made from either rosewood or as pictured ebony. The Norris no. 20 had a very fine mouth. The plane varied in width. The plane pictured is marked Norris London to the front end of the plane.

Norris Shoulder Plane no. 22

A rosewood infill no. 22 shoulder plane with a fine mouth made by Norris. Front of infill is marked Norris London. Cutting iron is also marked Norris London. Rear of plane is stamped Patent Metal. Has a rear screw. This plane was manufactured with either a square mouth or a skew mouth, fitted with a snecked plane iron also marked Norris.

Norris A22 Adjustable Shoulder Plane

An adjustable dovetailed steel Norris A22 shoulder plane fitted with rosewood infill and wedge. Has a snecked cutting iron marked Norris London, rear brass knurled adjuster is also marked Norris London.

Norris Bullnose Plane no. 25 fitted with a rosewood wedge. Snecked iron is marked Norris London also marked Norris London 25 to nose of plane. This little bullnose plane also features a fine mouth.

Norris Bullnose Rabbet Plane no. 27

Bullnose rabbet plane no. 27 from Norris of London. This lovely little Norris plane is made from gunmetal with a steel sole, ebony wedge and fitted with a snecked iron. Maker's name is marked to both the nose of the plane and the blade 'Norris London'.
