A dovetailed shoulder plane with an extremely fine mouth, rosewood infill and wedge, marked to front infill A. Mathieson & Sons Glasgow with the word steel across the bottom. Both the infill and wedge have numerous users name stamps. Retains a good length cutter marked A. Mathieson & Son Glasgow. The rear infill has had a previous repair, as two hairline cracks can be seen where the top piece of the original rear infill has been glued back in place. The rear screw is also missing.

An old and rare rosewood infill plane by Slater, the lever caps marked H.Slater maker Meredith St Clerkenwell London, plane iron cap and blade are both marked W. Marples & Sons (good length blade). The outer body of this old Slater woodworking plane has some light pitting, scratching and black staining. The rosewood infills are nice and clean, free from dents, both of which have the previous users name stamps. A fine and rare plane for its age.

This appears to be an old user made brass chariot plane with mahogany infill, maintains a good length cutter marked Hearnshaw Bros, John Bull, Cast Steel, Sheffield. The base of the chariot plane measures 176mm (6 15/16") long overall by 60mm (2 5/16") wide. The plane has a dent to top of the front knob, plus a few small dents/cast marks to the brass. This chariot woodworking plane also comes with a plywood box.

A fine mouthed steel dovetailed shoulder plane no 7 by Norris and made with rosewood infill and wedge (slight wear to front of wedge where previous uses knocked the wedge out, see enlarged photo). The blade and nose of this shoulder plane are marked Norris London, The blade, wedge and plane body are also marked with the no 12. the orginal Norris blade has very little iron remaining (see photo). A good plane for its age with normal ware through use.

An old dovetailed coffin shaped smoothing plane with hardwood Infills, cutting irons marked Warranted I.Sorby Cast Steel Sheffield and has roughly 1" (25mm) of blade left to the slot. The plane iron cap is marked Ward Solid Steel Warranted. This old woodworking plane has some wear due to its old age, front and rear buns have previous users name stamp, the front bun also has a small crack 18mm long. The body of the plane has some light pitting/ staining, lever cap has a few minor dents. This old dovetailed smoothing plane measures 189mm (7 7/16") long by 66mm (2 5/8") wide.
