A thick bodied jointer plane with rosewood handles made by Marples Sheffield England. Retains a near full length cutting iron marked W. Marples & Sons Sheffield Eng. Outer body is marked with some patches of black staining, the plane has also had a chip to the cast or a casting mark that has been filled, this defect is only on the outer cast of the body and doesn’t go right through to the inside of the plane (see photo). Still a good useable woodworking plane that maintains an estimated 95%+ of its black japanning and has a nice smooth sole.
