Record Carriage Makers Rabbet Plane no. 010

A later beech handled Record carriage makers rabbet plane no. 010, earlier models were fitted with rosewood handles. The Record 010 was made from high grade cast iron finished with blue japanning, fitted with a tungsten steel cutter that spans the width of the plane, face plate was finished with nickel plating.

Manufactured from 1932 up until 1994 the same period of manufacture as the 010 1/2 plane.

The 010 carriage makers plane was designed for general joinery work, rabbeting work, to adjust or clean up machine made rebates and is recommended for carriage and wagon building.

Carriage makers rabbet plane no. 010 1/2 made by Record. Manufactured from 1932 up until 1994.

Made from high grade cast iron with a japnned finish, nickel plated face plate, tungsten steel cutter and fitted with either rosewood handles on earlier models or beech handles on later models and eventually cheap plastic handles on the very late models.

Designed for general joinery work, rabbeting work, to adjust or clean up machine made rebates and is recommended for carriage and wagon building.

Record No. 018 Low Angle Block Plane

Low angled block plane no.018 made in England by Record. This plane is made from high grade cast iron with a japanned finished to the body and nickel plated finish to well designed snap knuckle joint lever cap and adjusters. Fitted with a tungsten steel cutter that can also be finely adjusted. The plane also features an adjustable mouth piece.

A great plane that makes short work of end grain and difficult timbers.

The 018 bloack plane was being manufactured from 1934 up until 1967.

Record Shoulder Rebate Plane no. 041

A small no. 041 shoulder rebate plane made in England by Record. Made from a high grade cast iron with a tungsten steel cutter. Earlier 041 planes were finished with a nickel plated body, later models were finished with a bright finish.

Manufactured from 1934 up to 1967. Used by joiners and cabinet makers for trimming and adjusting shoulders.

Record No. 043 Plough Plane

Plough plane no. 043 made in England by Record. Made from high grade cast iron with a nickel plated finish originally supplied with 3 plough cutters and a depth stop.

Designed for planing small rebates and grooves

Record Shoulder Rebate Plane no. 073

Shoulder rebate plane no. 073 made by Record Tools. Made from high grade cast iron with a nickel plated finish on early models and a bright finish on later models of this plane. Plane iron is made from tungsten steel. The Record 073 plane has an adjustable mouth that can be adjusted by means of a screw at the front, this opens and closes the mouth.

Designed for trimming and adjusting shoulders, dados, tenons etc.. used by joiners and cabinet makers.

Record Calvert Stevens CS88 Smoothing Plane

Record Calvert Stevens bench plane CS88. This limited edition heavy duty plane has a gun metal lever cap combines with the stay-set cap iron. Plane iron has a hardened cutting edge to provide razor sharp accuracy lasting 8 times longer than conventional irons, this is mounted on a precision machined frog. The Norris type cutter adjustment allows micrometer sensitivity for depth of cut and easy alignment. The whole assembly is mounted on a body cast from fine grey iron.

For craftsman in wood it is fitting that total comfort and control are assured with matt finish rosewood knob and handle. This rare Calvert Stevens bench plane includes a hardened case with contoured felt lining, also includes a certification .

Each Record Calvert Stevens plane has a unique number stamped into the cast underneath the handle.

Record Compass Plane no. 113

Compass plane no 0113, made in England by Record. This old tool was made from cast iron with a flexible spring steel sole and was fitted with a tungsten steel cutter. The plane was finished with blue japanning to body and nickel plated lever cap and adjuster knob.

The Record no. 0113 was manufactured from 1932 up to 1943. The plane was designed for various circular applications with the use of its flexible steel sole that can be adjusted to convex and concave shapes of varying radius by turning the adjuster knob at the front of the plane. Used by Joiners and cabinet makers.

Record 3 in 1 Shoulder Plane

3 in 1 shoulder rabbet, bullnose and chisel plane made in England by Record. The no.311 plane is made from high grade cast iron, finished with nickel plating on earlier models and a bright rustless finish on later models, fitted with a tungsten steel blade. The plane is made up of three sections:- the main body, shoulder attachment and a bullnose attachment also comes with 2 thin shims that are less than 1mm thick for finer adjustment of the mouth.

Used by cabinet makers and joiners.
