A fine beech handled, thick bodied smoothing plane no. 4 1/2 made in England by Stanley Bailey. Retains a near full length cutting iron marked Stanley made in England. Front knob lacks original lacquer. A nice woodworking plane with a good feel, that still maintains an estimated 99% of its black japanning, a good smooth sole that has some minor staining.

Stanley Multi Plane no 45 made in USA by Stanley with rosewood handle, knob and fence, includes 23 cutters (lacks cutter no. 25 a 3/8” beading cutter) includes two 1/8” cutters one of which is made by Record the other has been adapted to allow cutter either end, long and short arms, cam steady, 3 spurs, beading gauge, depth gauge, adjustable depth gauge, mini screwdriver, Stanley leaflet (pages loose) and box (box is worn). Blades are marked with some speckling of black staining. The skate of this woodworking plane is marked Stanley SW made in USA. Body maintains an estimated 95% of nickel plating (long and short arms lack any nickel plating). A fine old and collectable Stanley multi plane.
