A lovely early old Stanley smoothly plane no. 4 1/2.
The body is marked 'Bailey, No 4 1/2' and 'Pat'd, Mar 25-02, Aug 19-02, Apr 19-10'.
This plane has a Rosewood front knob and a different coloured hardwood rear handle, I think it may be a paler cut of Rosewood.
Retains a 'Stanley, New Britain, Conn, USA' plane iron.
