An old wooden compass plane by J Buck. The front nose is marked at the top and the bottom ‘J.Buck, 124 Newgate St, London’. Circa 1830s - 1870s.
The plane has a ‘Moseley & Son’ plane blade.
Blade Width: 51mm (2”) approx.
Condition: all parts move freely – the front nose is stiff particularly when moving down (not sure if this is how they were), tapping it gently with a handle moves it down, usual tarnishing/scratches/dents for this type of tool of this age, please see photos for condition.
