An old Norris plane no. A5.
This Norris of London coffin shaped A5 smoothing plane has ebonised beech infills fitted with a good length 'Norris, London' parallel cutting iron which is also marked 'Robt Sorby, Sheffield, England' on the rear of the plane.
The lever cap and brass knurled blade adjusting knob are also marked Norris London.
The cap iron hasn't any markings.
The body has the nice feature of still having its machine markings.
