A lovely old I Sorby smoothing plane.
This plane has the same length as a Stanley No. 3 plane and the same width as a Stanley No. 4 plane.
This is a very scarce plane.
The body is marked 'I Sorby', 'Sheffield' and 'England'.
This plane has what looks like a Rosewood front knob and a Rosewood rear handle; the rear handle still retains a bit of the original trade label.
The plane also retains its 'I Sorby, Sheffield' plane iron.
Condition: all parts move freely, please see photos for condition.
