A very early carving tool which is simply marked 'Addis' (the mark is a little unclear).
This is an old Addis wood carving tool - spoon - medium gouge profile.
This old handle has two small shrinkage cracks (the longest being 15mm) running up from the ferrule, sold as a collectable.
We believe this carving tool dates between 1790 - 1850, most probably between 1790 - 1820.
The things this tool has carved in the past 170+ years. A real tactile piece of history.
